Implementing a comprehensive RNBO plan that protects workers and visitors

To better respond to changes in recommendations and process during the COVID-19 pandemic, a zoo and aquarium facility contacted our ChemRisk team to review their existing return to normal business operations (RNBO) plan.

We reviewed existing protocols and identified the major components of the plans that needed to be added to or updated. Additionally, we provided a thorough reopening schedule based on local and state guidelines. Lastly, we created a strict cleaning and disinfection protocol that considered the daily operations inherent to zoo and aquariums, as well as the different parties (volunteers, full-time employees, and guests) that work at and visit the facility.

The client reopened the facility while implementing a comprehensive RNBO plan that protected worker and visitor health and safety beyond the local and state requirements. The plan also included instructions for rigorous and effective communication for management and employees to quickly respond to changes in COVID-19 policy recommendations or local community spread.
