Upholding code and quality standards without compromising the environment

The American Center for Mobility (ACM) is a unique, purpose-built facility focused on testing, validation and self-certification of connected and automated vehicles and other mobility technologies. It is located at the 500-acre, historic Willow Run site in Ypsilanti Township.

Working together with the Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority, governmental review agencies, ACM, and stakeholders, our team provided construction engineering observation, quality assurance/quality control. We also provided record keeping services. reviewed site plan, detailed design, shop drawing and field change submittals for compliance with governing standards. Throughout the project, our team strived to ensure code and quality standards were achieved without compromising the environment—given the past location of the Willow Run Bomber Plant, many unexpected conditions were discovered in the field (including past utility installations during World War II). Our team expedited the review process, processed field change orders, worked to keep the fast-paced project on schedule.

The ACM continues to evolve and is positioned to provide additional testing environments for its clients—with these future goals for the facility, our team will continue to provide engineering services in the coming years.
