Rocky Run Middle School

We set out to renovate Rocky Run Middle School, an educational facility constructed in 1980. Not only would we need to promote student success through thoughtful design, but the building would need to accommodate growth. Currently, Rocky Run holds 1,100 students, but our renovations would increase the capacity to 1,350 and serve both seventh and eighth graders.

Located in Chantilly, Virginia—along the busy Stringfellow Road—the new building had to meet current Fairfax County Educational specifications while allowing essential modifications and remaining cost-effective. The mission? To create an institutional building that contributes to the long-term success of students in Virginia. And right now, our team is providing the architectural and interior design services to render a successful, 130,000 square foot renovation and a much needed, 70,000 square foot addition under modern design expectations.

Our team also developed the organizational program to establish an effective, efficient middle school setting. With a true, 21st century model of learning, Rocky Run Middle School will be a welcomed facility for the community of Chantilly. Our new design will continue to elevate the level of learning in Fairfax County.
