Huntley Wharf

Huntley Wharf is a new waterside development in central Reading providing a well-connected, walkable neighbourhood of over 700 much-needed new homes. We provided a range of design services, from early concept stage through to the construction stage. Our services included civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, transport design, and river modelling. We worked with PRP Architects to ensure this important regeneration scheme, on the site of the former Huntley and Palmer biscuit factory, was fully coordinated and delivered in line with project programme.

When remote working became necessary during the pandemic, the team needed to find a way to work effectively remotely. The project team quickly adapted, trialling several tools to find the best solution, which, in this case was cloud service BIM360. Using BIM360 simplified the workflow, saved time and avoided design issues onsite. Feedback from our team was incorporated into the product software for the benefit of the wider industry.

By adapting quickly to the changing situation we were able to support the client with uninterrupted project delivery in the face of extraordinary circumstances. This innovative, digital solution will result in time savings and improved quality and efficiency for future clients too.
