Township Road 674 - Cement Stabilization, Base, and Paving
Lac La Biche County wanted to resurface Township Road 674 to provide another link between Highway 55 from the west and the recreational area bordering the south side of the lake. They needed a partner they could trust. Having worked with us on bridge-sized culvert replacements, intersection improvements, and new roadway designs, the County knew we could help.
Since the existing road was narrow, with trees encroaching into the ditches, and the County did not want to purchase additional right-of-way, we had to work within the space available. Our design and workplan accommodated their budget and allowed for the flexibility to perform portions of the project with their own gravel resources and equipment. The next stage involved cement stabilization with minor ditch grading, approach improvements, and repair of culverts to improve water drainage. The County completed the base course and engaged a contractor to complete the paving. We provided construction management and inspection services throughout the project.
Upgrading Township Road 674 has provided a safer, shorter route for residents to access Highway 55 and shows how an existing road can be updated within the tight confines of a rural setting.
