Kings Region Vision 2050 Integrated Regional Sustainability Plan

Stantec led the facilitation for the multi-dimensional stakeholder consultation and community engagement process for the Kings County region, which includes three municipal towns and seven villages. Our work involved varied community workshops, web based inputs, and community and stakeholder meetings. We’ve helped shape development of a regional sustainability vision by integrating various community sustainability strategies and land use plans into a single collaborative and integrated community planning framework.

Developing long term rural and urban goals requires taking a step back to see the bigger picture. Our visioning process incorporates housing, agriculture, rural and natural areas, transportation, economic development, energy, healthy communities, and arts and culture. Workshops and engagement included governance gatherings with councilors and municipal staff, a multi-stakeholder all day workshop and many where you’re at meetings with community groups.

We developed a visioning report summarizing the collective vision, principles, driving elements and goals from the consultation process. Kings Region Vision 2050 is now in the final phase of planning approval processes.
