Co-operators Centre

That the Co-operators Centre provide community unity was essential to us when designing the facility. The Centre has become a community hub for Regina, providing a home for the Regina Pats hockey team, Queen City Exhibition, Canadian Western Agribition, numerous recreational leagues, tournaments, and competitions. This facility needed to be more than an ice rink.

With flexibility as our driving goal, unique features were built into the design: arena floors have a cooling and heating feature that allows for quick conversion from ice to cement; removable seats and large doors allow for almost any event rig fitting; overhead doors link to other facilities for tradeshows and festivals. Safety and a lengthy life-span were addressed through the removal and replacement of clay with proper foundation. Combined energy efficient systems have reduced operating costs by 50 percent over conventional means.

Families once spread throughout the city’s single ice facilities are now spending time together in a recreational and social epicenter. We are proud to know that every event held at the Co-operators Centre showcases our work and our dedication to our community.

Jeff Jurzyniec, Principal, Buildings Sector Lead

Our role as designers means more than shelter; we create meaning in our environment and communities.

Howard Ostlund, Senior Structural Technologist

A happy client is a repeat client, and that is what I strive for.

Brad Wilson, Associate, Landscape Architect

My philosophy is to invoke feeling in every user of open spaces we design. Landscape design is a form of art—every user may experience something different.
