Seqwater Asset Management System Development

Supplying water storage, farming irrigation, flood mitigation, and recreational services to more than three million people across southeast Queensland and into northern New South Wales, Seqwater is one of the largest bulk water providers in Australia, with a diverse range of assets of any capital city. To improve their operations, they reached out to us to help them deliver a structured asset management program, including a refreshed asset management policy, a fit-for-purpose asset management system, framework, and a new strategic asset management plan.

To document how Seqwater responds to everyday situations, we collaborated with them to understand how their 12 distinct asset groups are utilized. We then used these findings to create a new asset management manual as a single source of truth.  We also developed templates and guidance material for the three planning levels, from portfolio down to asset class operational plans.

The outcomes of this project have been endorsed by the Seqwater board and executive leadership team and are the working framework for Seqwater operations across their water network.
