As vice president and digital practice leader, David is primarily responsible for managing our internal Water business operating unit for Digital Practice in North America. In this role, he is known for implementing process efficiencies throughout the different design disciplines within the Water group.
David also works on large projects as the lead instrumentation and controls engineer. He enjoys working with people he has known for many years and mentoring staff that are new to the industry. One initiative David is focused on is trying to eliminate costs associated with software that Stantec is paying for, but staff are not using. This effort enables the group to spend money on new initiatives that will help in the purchase of new software for implementing CAD, BIM, and Digital Twins—virtual representations of real processes that use data and machine learning to test reactions to simulated conditions.
When he’s not at work, David loves working or being outdoors observing wildlife and hiking the hills around where he lives in Danville, California.
