As an environmental scientist for an engineering consultancy, Sam sees the environment as a valued client whose interests he represents. Always fascinated by nature and how humans interact with the environment, Sam pursued formal education in marine biology, leading to experience in natural resource ecology and management.
Over 12 years in environmental consulting, he has performed and managed every aspect of environmental data collection, including field sampling, GIS data analysis and illustration, and technical report writing. He is known for providing thorough documentation for USACE jurisdictional delineations, FERC Resource reports, environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, biological assessments/opinions, visual resource assessments, landscape mitigation plans, and airport wildlife hazard assessments.
Most gratifying for Sam is how environmental assessments, regulations, and permitting are now accepted as the proper and responsible way to build. His familiarity with various Acts and regulations are a resource for project developers in creating projects that meet not only the letter of the law, but also the demands of their customers.
