With a lifelong interest in the outdoors, fishing, and freshwater ecosystems, it only made sense for Eric to pursue a career as an aquatic biologist. He put his curiosity into action, completing a master of science degree in biology from the University of Ottawa where he specialized in the physiology and ecology of freshwater and anadromous (spawning) fishes.
Today, Eric serves as a subject matter expert on our Freshwater Ecology team where he focuses on aquatic invasive species and species at risk. He supports our teams in the execution of projects across disciplines and advocates for the environment by promoting environmentally responsible solutions throughout project development.
Eric is also extensively knowledgeable about water quality and environmental monitoring, environmental DNA (eDNA), and the use of sonar technologies and acoustic and radio telemetry to identify and assess fish behavior and movement.
