Water is the driving force behind Melissa’s career. Whether she’s identifying, mitigating, or controlling risks, Melissa is focused on protecting people and places in Louisville and other cities across the US. She helps clients like FEMA and TVA identify problems with streams and aging infrastructure, then suggests long-term solutions.
She also works closely with the Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) to support its annual Environmental Data Collection and Assessment project. It involves Stantec teams sampling water from streams across Louisville during wet weather events and then providing MSD with critical information needed to assess, investigate, and treat water for the nearly one million residents of Louisville/Jefferson County.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys volunteering and taking part in activities and sports (gymnastics, swimming, basketball, tee-ball, running, and an occasional family mud run) with her husband and two children.
