Michelle is a senior principal biologist with almost 20 years of experience in permitting, regional conservation planning, environmental compliance, sensitive species and their habitats, and mitigation. Having worked as a biologist at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for nearly a decade, she developed many working relationships with biologists, technical leads, and regional chiefs throughout the US West, particularly in the Sacramento Valley and Bay Area.
As the biological resources lead for our Environmental group in the US Pacific, Michelle establishes and reinforces quality standards for technical ability and project management and delivery for biological documents and field work. She also serves as a project manager and regulatory permit specialist, assisting clients with state and federal compliance under the Endangered Species, National Environmental Policy, and Clean Water Acts. She specializes in renewable energy projects, particularly solar and both onshore and offshore wind, as well as large-scale transportation efforts.
When she isn’t helping advocate for the environment on projects, Michelle is passionate about promoting STEM education to children as part of Stantec and at her daughters’ schools.
