Having a dad who was a structural and civil designer and former architect, Jem grew up with a drafting table, regular visits to stationery stores, and family trips to see his designs. It seemed like a natural fit to have a career in the industry she’d been exposed to all her life. Now, she’s a subdivision drafting lead with a decade of experience.
Drawing on that experience, Jem focuses on subdivision design drafting. Her responsibilities include drafting production of construction drawings, senior drafting oversight, and process improvements. She supervises a drafting team, mentoring them and developing training sessions. Collaborating with project managers, designers, engineers, and drafters, she helps teams meet project deliverables. Notable project highlights include her work with Mahogany and Ambleton, new residential communities in Calgary.
When she’s not mentoring her team, Jem enjoys baking, cooking, and art projects with florals.
