From an early age, Jim has been an explorer. When he took a physical geography course in university, he realized he was a geographer at heart—one who studies the processes that shape the earth’s surface, how living things interact with it, and the spatial patterns they exhibit. He jokingly refers to himself as a geo-dermatologist—one who studies the earth’s skin.
With a master’s degree in geography from the University of Calgary and close to 30 years of industry experience, Jim specializes in building strong client relationships, environmental protection planning, permitting, construction readiness, and compliance to drive advancements across sectors. He has a special interest in the energy transition—particularly renewables—and a passion for supporting climate action. As a practice leader, subject matter expert, and advisor, he leads by example and inspires others to look for creative, client-focused solutions.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, and paddling in the great outdoors.
