With more than 15 years of experience, Mark is a professional engineer whose projects include high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and high voltage alternating current (HVAC) underwater and land cable systems, HVDC electrodes, substation grounding, substation lightning protection, as well as alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) transmission line lightning performance.
Mark has worked on various stages of power cable projects including conceptual design, technical specification development, bid evaluation, design review, factory visits, as well as witnessing testing and commissioning activities. In recent years he’s performed preliminary cable system designs, developed technical specifications for the cable systems, and carried out bid evaluations for the EuroAsia HVDC Interconnector—which will be the deepest underwater power cable in the world once installed. He’s also worked on the Kudus-Aarey HVDC project in Mumbai India and is actively involved with the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE).
Outside of work, Mark enjoys being in nature, cycling, and wood carving.
