Colleen chose to start her professional career with our Geotechnical Engineering group, getting her feet wet on diverse geotechnical projects, while exploring her passion in geohazards. She has completed hazard assessments and assisted with pipeline depth-of-cover surveys of over 200 pipeline watercourse crossings and landslide hazard locations within Alberta and British Columbia. Acting as a bridge between the geotechnical and geohazards teams, Colleen believes in sharing information and collaborating to come up with creative solutions for our clients’ biggest natural challenges.
Never afraid of a challenging commute, Colleen has travelled to remote and helicopter-accessed sites across Western Canada. With safety as her number one priority, she has worked in glacial, tidal, and swift water environments, mountainous terrain, and congested urban areas; each of these environments bringing unique risks.
Colleen feels lucky to work with talented colleagues who both value an innovative approach to understanding geohazards and know how to mitigate any negative impacts. It’s never simple, but that’s what keeps Colleen going.
