The coast isn’t just where ocean meets land—it’s where wharfs, harbors, docks, ports, and marinas allow people and goods to traverse oceans, build connections, and create opportunities. With more than 18 years of experience in coastal engineering, Chris is the Team Lead for coastal and ocean engineering in Australia.
With experience on large and challenging projects throughout Australia, Africa, and the Middle East, Chris’ expertise lies in coastal structure design including port developments and offshore wind farms. He is also recognized in the industry for his seasoned coastal environmental advice. By studying the shape of a coast and historical changes that have occurred, he is able to develop risk-aligned management solutions for complex problems.
Drawing on his strong analytical skills, Chris is proficient in mathematical modelling techniques and metocean field data collection including wave measurements, winds, sea levels, sand movement, and water quality to help predict the effect of any changes. This requires a deep understanding of the processes that cause coastlines to behave as they do.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys surfing, keeping fit, and spending time with his young family.
