Ernesto’s career in mining began shortly after he graduated as a geotechnical engineer. Now, more than 16 years later, his role includes client management, project technical risk evaluations, and the design, construction, inspection, and closure of tailings storage facilities.
Ernesto values working with diverse-minded and engaged people and enjoys the opportunity to travel internationally, whether it be to oils sands developments in Canada or to gold and copper mines in Turkey and Argentina. He has always appreciated the mentors and colleagues who have helped him develop both personally and professionally. He considers these relationships essential and seeks to pay it forward by helping other colleagues and junior engineers whenever he can.
In his personal life, Ernesto likes to be physically active and involved with his family’s projects—especially with his son and daughter’s soccer teams. When he isn’t coaching or playing soccer, Ernesto spends his free time reading or listening to music.
