Photo of Jenny

An aquatic biologist, Jenny has extensive experience in the field of freshwater aquatic ecology. Recently, her work has centered on the environmental impacts of the mining, power, and oil and gas sectors.

Jenny’s expertise includes environmental effects monitoring for mining and pulp and paper. She specializes in baseline aquatic environment, species at risk, and fish population assessments, fish passage, diadromous fish (fish that migrate between fresh and salt water, such as salmon), as well as Fisheries Act Authorizations and offsetting. She has completed sampling programs on fish communities, fish tissue, benthic invertebrate communities (small animals such as bugs, clams, and worms), primary productivity (algae), and sediment and water quality for numerous projects across Canada.

When she’s not working with freshwater fish and mentoring others, Jenny enjoys the outdoors. She loves exploring new places and learning new things—and enjoys hiking in the woods with her family and dog, fishing, playing sports, and spending time with friends
