Brendan has been instrumental in developing Stantec's capabilities around landscape greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and carbon crediting for our Nature-based Solutions team. He’s a carbon sequestration subject matter expert and collaborates on projects spanning forests, wetlands, grasslands, and croplands. This work extends to climate impact assessments, GHG reporting, and offsetting through the global voluntary carbon market.
To streamline our services, Brendan has helped develop innovative tools and approaches to nature-based GHG accounting. These have included the Carbon Offset Tool, which standardizes the credit calculation process and CarbonWATCH, which uses remote sensing to inventory and track changes to carbon contained within plants and soils. These services utilize nature-based solutions to deliver on our clients' climate action goals.
Outside of Stantec, you might find Brendan playing guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, or ukulele, and spending time with his family. He toured Europe as a choral singer twice in college and loves both music and environmental science.
