Although some are small enough to step across, streams play an important role in aquatic ecosystems, enhancing water quality, and providing recreational opportunities. With this recognition, Pat, a professional engineer who specializes in stream restoration, finds himself busier than ever.
Taking a natural channel design approach, Pat combines his knowledge of streams with the latest technology including AutoCAD Civil 3D, BANCS analysis, geomorphic assessment, and RIVERMorph™, to develop restoration plans. Also experienced in stormwater management, stream monitoring, and watershed studies, Pat has provided expertise in a wide variety of restoration projects throughout the Mountain West region.
Knowing that streams add-value to the ecosystem and to communities, Pat enjoys his role helping clients create more sustainable environments. Outside of work he enjoys floating down western rivers and fly fishing with friends. He has discovered the sport of mountain biking upon arriving to Colorado and hasn’t put his bike down since. In winter, when the mountains are holding snow, Pat leaves the river valleys and heads to the high country where he tours the backcountry on skis.
