Darren joined Stantec in 1997 as a graduate civil engineer. Over the years he became a project engineer, manager, principal, and served as a Director for 6 years.

With extensive experience in the land development, water, transport and building sectors in WA, Darren provides valuable upfront strategic vision, project governance and high-level advocacy. Darren has a professional, enthusiastic, collaborative, friendly and fun attitude towards work that has contributed to a favorable rapport and respect within the industry.

Darren has a thorough understanding of construction risk, construction programming and safety in design and a wealth of experience of community engagement and working under political pressure. He understands what it takes to create mutually beneficial working relationships based on trust and respect.  Specifically, Darren has experience in the detailed engineering design and superintendence of bulk earthworks, roadworks, sewer reticulation, stormwater drainage, Water Corporation headworks infrastructure, retaining walls, water, gas and underground power reticulation.

Western Australia’s most complex and iconic projects have benefited from Darren’s services, most notably being Elizabeth Quay – a challenging urban renewal project including a 2Ha inlet reshaping Perth’s CBD.

When he isn’t at work Darren is enjoying family time with his family. He also thrives in endurance events—having finished several marathons and ironmans—and also enjoys soccer and anything on or under the water.
