Jim has an integrated career of both private and public sector planning. An expert in the management and oversight of land use planning and development, he brings extensive experience in dealing with complex land use issues. This encompasses community planning involving visioning preparation of and amendments to comprehensive plans, area-wide, corridor and neighborhood planning programs and land development regulations. He also been recognized for his innovations in environmental systems planning and has considerable experience in planning for watersheds, stormwater, utilities, and transportation and other urban service and facilities.
Jim is a widely recognized expert in the coordination of master planning and entitlement procurement for large-scale new communities. Several of these projects are nationally recognized and have won numerous awards. He is also skilled in working with rural communities and farmland preservation. His work has included both public and private sector comprehensive planning and specific developments plans. These projects is routinely involves involve collaborating with multiple jurisdictions and extensive stakeholder outreach. Jim has served as a planning commissioner, land use hearing officer and an elected official as well as in many leadership positions for numerous professional and community organizations.
