Nick is responsible for design and construction administration from our first look at the building—for scope definition and conceptual design—to design, construction, and commissioning. He likes getting the sense that he’s part of the community of people who develop and maintain Ottawa’s infrastructure.
Cooperation and a friendly attitude in the workplace are important to Nick. He finds it exciting to point out things about his city that are typically unknown or hidden. When he first started at Stantec, he worked on building condition assessments in Nunavut. Since then, as a part of our Buildings group, Nick has performed lab design, generator emissions modelling for the City of Ottawa, as well as construction administration and feasibility work on Energy Services Acquisition Program (ESAP) projects including building designs.
You’ll find Nick biking year-round—including bike commuting in the winter for the last 10 years. He also enjoys managing and expanding the fruit on his property, which includes giant raspberry bushes, blackberries, apples, pears, cherries, grapes, and even kiwis one year.
