As a chartered mechanical engineer, Ray brings years of experience in the water industry—with Yorkshire Water, Thames Water, and Severn Trent Water in the UK and Mandurah Wastewater Treatment Plant in Western Australia—to his work. Now he works in the Irish industry where he is currently developing wastewater treatment proposals that aim to eliminate significant pressures to local rivers.
Ray’s experience in the design of process plants includes developing piping and instrumentation diagrams, plant layouts, and general arrangement drawings—he can select suitable mechanical process equipment and integrate them into an existing works. He has undertaken hydraulic design calculations for water, sludge, and biogas systems for the selection of pumps, as well as the mechanical design of wet and dry well pumping stations. Applying his understanding of regulatory requirements also factors into his work.
When Ray’s not working on wastewater treatment proposals that help improve local rivers, he likes playing golf and five-a-side soccer.
