With over 15 years of ecological consultancy experience, Ryan specializes in terrestrial and aquatic ecology including field survey techniques, survey design, technical report writing, and collaboration. As a leading advisor on river restoration, he promotes statutory biodiversity net gain—leaving habitats in better condition than they were before development—for waterbody improvements in the United Kingdom. His philosophy focuses on sustainable practices and collaboration with stakeholders and leads him to engage with communities to deliver environmentally sound projects.
Ryan provides ecological support for development schemes and environmental planning. Notably, he led a river restoration project that improved water quality and biodiversity, guided the development of a comprehensive water resource management plan, and supported a successful drought permit application through detailed environmental assessments.
When he isn’t busy helping improve ecosystems, Ryan enjoys family time, angling, and volunteering for their local Rivers Trust.
