Steve has broad experience in new construction, rehabilitation of existing buildings, and deep energy retrofits. He’s focused his recent work on high performance buildings pursuing passive house and zero carbon building certifications, using the building envelope commissioning (BECx) processes necessary to achieve these objectives.
With expertise in prefabricated envelope systems for both new construction and retrofit projects, Steve also has extensive experience with timber buildings—six-story timber framed and multistory mass timber—and the unique envelope challenges they entail. He thrives in providing architects and developers with envelope design assistance, design review, and energy enhancement advice.
When he isn’t helping improve a building’s performance, Steve enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team and playing golf and hockey.
