As an architect with over 20 years of experience, Jeff leads the K-12 Education studio in Manitoba. He’s an active participant and leader of the integrated design process (IDP), and he’s passionate about how buildings can be designed as learning tools. From interacting with administrators, teachers, and students during the design phase to creating a sense of shared ownership at project close, Jeff measures success by the impact his designs have on the end users.
As lead architect on the Manitoba Schools Initiative (MSI) project—brainchild of Indigenous Services Canada (ISC)—Jeff’s goal is to deliver four new schools to four unique but geographically-connected First Nations in Northern Manitoba. These are remote, winter-road-access only communities that have a desperate need to improve the learning environments for their increasing youth population.
Aside from his passion for spending time with his family (including two daughters), Jeff is an avid golfer and hockey player. He uses the two sports to challenge his patience, performance, and confidence—and to help balance his work/life equation.
