James Mair

Senior Associate, Environmental Services

Photo of James

A senior contaminated site practitioner with over 20 years of consulting and project management experience, James has worked with both the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation (CSR) and Federal regulatory regimes. He’s project managed and overseen the assessment, remediation, and regulatory approvals for commercial and industrial sites in British Columbia as well as in Alberta and the Yukon. James is the Western Canada Federal Government sector leader, and he manages the National Environmental Services contract with Canada Post Corporation.

James has worked on everything from former service stations and waterlots to city works yards, airports, and roadways. He’s also completed projects involving excess soil management support for development sites as well as property acquisition and due diligence support. During his work on a former demolition waste landfill in Delta, British Columbia, James led a multidisciplinary team in the due diligence phase of property acquisitions, preliminary and detailed site investigations, multiple ministry applications, and ultimately an approval in principle to permit the construction of a 350,000-square-foot (32,500-square-metre) multi-tenanted warehouse building.

Outside of work, you can find James pulling his camper around BC with his wife and kids. If not that, he might be chasing a ball around a golf course or in a hockey arena with his two boys.
