An environmental professional, Jake provides marine and freshwater technical input and on-ground project delivery across multiple sectors. He has developed a unique skillset in marine and aquatic ecology and an understanding contaminated land management.
Jake has designed and conducted a wide range of surveys to inform environmental baseline and impact assessments. He can operate in the challenging conditions marine environments present, performing complex and innovative sampling techniques, using remotely operated vehicles and drop/tow cameras to identify, characterize, and map subtidal habitats.
Within freshwater environments, Jake uses an array of boat-based grab methodologies to collect benthic invertebrates. He has led and participated in numerous surveys including macroinvertebrate sampling collection and sorting, environmental DNA (eDNA), river morphology assessments, water quality, electrofishing, and netting to understand baseline conditions.
When he isn’t surveying aquatic environments, Jake enjoys surfing, foiling, golf, good coffee, and traveling.
