For most people, nothing is more permanent than the ground under their feet. As a professional geoscientist, Song Ling knows the Earth’s surface and subsurface are constantly changing, and he applies this knowledge to helping clients build safely. He supports clients providing expertise in terrain and fluvial geohazards through offering professional insights and experience, through working with numerous geohazards programs, for large oil and gas companies in Western Canada.
He is proficient in landslides identification and analysis (both desktop and field), pipeline geohazards assessment, geohazards and terrain mapping, geomorphologic interpretation, geospatial analysis, LiDAR change detection, fluvial geohazards assessment and hydraulic modeling.
Though his interest is primarily subterranean, his trips to remote resource industry sites have given him an appreciation for the landscapes and nature above ground.
