Leading a team of environmental scientists, Ben is passionate about empowering them to help clients achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for their projects. As a senior principal environmental geoscientist, Ben has more than 16 years’ experience on site assessment and remediation projects of every scale in both the US and Australia.
Working on many confidential and sensitive projects, Ben understands the importance of being a trusted advisor to clients. Among his responsibilities are whole-of-project direction and oversight, liaising with key stakeholders and regulatory agencies, managing fieldwork and site safety, and review of technical reports.
His passion is mentorship and managing a team spanning a range of skills and experience is something he relishes. He strives to build a supportive environment with opportunities for team members to grow. In his own career, a project he is proud of is the Seddon Square redevelopment, a former tram and bus depot. Ben managed the environmental assessment and remediation of the site to achieve an environmental audit, allowing a residential development with 400 much needed new dwellings.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Ben and his family now call Melbourne home. Away from work he enjoys time with his wife and three kids, indulging in good pastries and coffee, watching superhero movies, and building epic LEGO creations for his kids to inevitably destroy.
