Carolyn’s 22-year career began with the Department of Environmental Quality, as a state regulator. During this time, she conducted site assessments for federal facilities and managed numerous projects involving the removal of underground storage tanks. She’s also worked as an environmental consultant and stream project manager for the state’s largest compensatory mitigation in-lieu fee fund.
But most of her career has involved environmental studies and transportation projects. She’s served as a project manager and environmental team leader, providing environmental services for numerous state and local transportation projects. These have ranged from sidewalk improvements to the construction of a new tunnel for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel project. Carolyn has a firm grasp of federal and state environmental regulations, the ability to manage at both a project and program level, and strong relationships with the regulatory community and transportation programs in Virginia.
Outside of the office you might find Carolyn hiking and camping with family and friends or coaching her son’s Little League baseball team.
