For Mike, water systems should be the last thing that people think about. This means he and his teams are providing unparalleled reliability, safety and security in systems that serve the public and protect the environment. As a wastewater engineer, Mike designs and implements wastewater treatment technologies and systems, provides long-term planning strategies, technology assessments, detailed designs, manages construction, commissioning, and the piloting of new technologies.
Mike recently completed his Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a research focus on nitrogen gas management in biological nutrient removal systems. This experience adds to his expertise in hydraulic analysis, wastewater treatment process modelling, process mechanical system design, system optimization, and solids stream processing. He believes that with innovative solutions and strong partnerships with water utilities, we can advance wastewater treatment and preserve waterways for generations to come.
Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his family at their cabin in Sylvan Lake doing water activities and golfing. In the winter, he enjoys trips to the mountains and spending time on the ski hill.
