As Stantec’s smart cities global lead, Rick applies innovative methodologies that bring together people, processes, places, data, connected things, and infrastructure to better understand and transform our urban places and built environment. He helps his clients navigate the complex systems of urban infrastructure and social and economic systems to deliver smart solutions that engage social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
As a smart design leader with more than 25 years of experience, Rick is a thought leader and practitioner who helps solve the greatest challenges facing our communities today. He has extensive experience leading transformative digital solutions for businesses and communities in the public and private sector. He was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his transformational work in municipal innovation in Canada.
Beyond his role at Stantec, Rick serves in various teaching roles at Harvard University, George Brown College, and Toronto Metropolitan University.
