With a solid foundation in both finance and law from the University of Alberta, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and a pragmatic approach to his role as associate general counsel. He plays a pivotal role on our corporate risk management team, and his expertise spans a broad spectrum of corporate legal matters including governance, securities law, and mergers and acquisitions. He also assists in maintaining our reputation in the capital markets and supporting compliance with the regulations of being publicly traded.
As corporate secretary for key committees, Chris’ leadership reflects his dedication to guiding Stantec through complex legal landscapes. Active in our Executive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee, he helps contribute to our sustainability initiatives. His approach to mentorship and team management further illustrates his commitment to fostering growth and excellence within our legal department.
When he isn’t consulting on legal matters, you’ll find Chris, an avid sports fan, seeking out his favorite teams. He also enjoys traveling the world with his wife, Nicola, and their two children.
