Specializing in hydropower, John has been intimately involved in all stages of projects—from project development to asset management services. Building on his core discipline of electrical and electronic engineering, he has established strong competencies in planning and consents, civil works management, and mechanical systems specification. John has extensive experience securing and delivering connections to the UK electricity grid, including in-depth knowledge of the connections process, grid codes, and regulatory context.
As design authority for many hydro projects, John has developed bespoke modeling tools to forecast energy yield and hydraulic performance as well as system performance analysis. Formal project management training and the practical implementation of this gives John a naturally proactive approach to planning, risk identification, and stakeholder management.
When he isn’t running complex, multidisciplinary projects, John enjoys orienteering, running, and hillwalking. He also likes to be busy at home and is a keen cook, baker, and gardener.
