Experienced in the design of mechanical and electrical engineering services, Ian has worked across Europe, Asia, and the UK for both private and public sector clients. He’s been involved with a wide range of markets including defense, energy, industrial, education, and residential.
Ian specializes in the delivery of mechanical and electrical designs for the defense and energy sectors, providing building services related design solutions for sites within the UK and abroad. His defense projects have ranged from simple refurbishments to multimillion pound new-build facilities to both UK and NATO defense standards. In the energy sector, he’s worked on three high-voltage direct current (HVDC) convertor stations linking the UK grid with Norway, Germany, and the Dogger Bank Wind Farm.
A key member of our Plymouth office and technical director of our Buildings Engineering group, Ian regularly coordinates multidisciplinary efforts that also encompass structural, civil, fire, and geotechnical engineering along with the sustainability team.
One day Ian hopes to retrace the overland route taken by his great uncle in 1942 from Yangon, Myanmar, to Salerno, Italy.
