Alan is the principal for our Structural team in the western United States and leads the Buildings Structural Engineering Council. With a project portfolio expanding nationally on a wide range of project types for various private and public sector clients, he’s built a reputation for being a dynamic leader with the agility to finding solutions to complex design visions. Alan passionately pursues innovation to propel success in the built environment and is dedicated to finding sustainable design options.
Being conscious of delivering buildings with lower impact to the environment, Alan has committed to our 2050 structural engineering goals of lowering the carbon footprint of all buildings. Using new systems like BubbleDeck, he’s successfully delivered projects that reduce the amount of concrete in a building’s floors by increasing the use of cement alternatives that lower the high carbon impact of concrete. Alan is constantly looking for new products on the market to push the construction industry into more sustainable and resilient practices.
Outside of work, Alan enjoys spending time with his sweet Pitbull, Abby.
