Part scientist and part artist, Jason is all about balance. Designing his latest art project gives him fresh perspective on his professional challenges. His balanced work philosophy: put in a lot of effort, but enjoy doing it. Clients clearly agree. After long hours spent on a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project, Jason’s team was recognized for the quality of their work and the fun they had together. A sense of humor is essential when you’ve taken on an industry under intense scrutiny.
As Stantec’s Canadian lead for oil sands, he knows that projects are on a large scale, conditions change regularly, and you have to adapt. Specializing in environmental impact assessment and regulatory strategy, adapting is what he’s good at, working on projects for oil sands mines or in-situ developments, CCS, power generation facilities, pipelines, LNG facilities, well sites, and gas plants. As Jason says, “With challenge comes great reward; on the good days at least.”
