A senior hydrogeologist with our Environmental Services group, Stephen has more than 20 years of technical experience managing hydrogeological investigations. His work is largely in support of groundwater supply, construction dewatering, and artificial groundwater recharge projects.
Stephen also brings extensive knowledge of groundwater exploration, drainage basin surveys, water balance calculations, aquifer mapping, GUDI assessments, and development constraint mapping. A notable project of his is when Stantec conducted a field study for the Town of Orangeville that included well drilling, downhole geophysics, and groundwater pumping over a 30-day period. Monitoring the response to this pumping from over 30 locations, Stephen and his team evaluated the sustainability of this new groundwater supply source.
Field studies Stephen is involved with include the installation of large diameter wells and test pumping them for months—he finds it very exciting to watch and analyze how the environment responds.
