Derek started as an engineer in chemical plants, refineries, and power stations, where he engineered and oversaw countless projects. Today, as quality and value manager, he helps project teams reach technical excellence.
Leading our Value Management Program, Derek believes that solving client challenges drives innovation. Understanding that engineering must be both reliable and adaptable, he advocates for balancing time-tested processes for design and quality with the efficiencies of new digital tools and AI-enhanced systems.
When he isn’t improving project quality and value, Derek enjoys developing new skills such as home design and construction, welding, auto repair, and hobby electronics. Recently, he designed and built a 500-horsepower Shelby roadster, which he worked on alongside his wife and three children. The project took two years and 1,100 hours to complete!
