Any body of water from a pond to an ocean experiences pressures that can adversely impact its health. In Andrea’s leadership role with our Stormwater group, she works to keep water resources healthy for nature, as well as for drinking, recreational use, and industry. She has over 20 years’ experience in stormwater master planning, strategic planning, research, and project management.
Andrea is passionate about connecting people and water, working to solve complex issues so that communities can use their water resources and increase their resiliency. She has worked on leading-edge microbial source tracking projects for coastal clients—including the use of molecular source tracking markers to identify likely sources of fecal pollution linked to beach closures. Her research on local bird populations as sources of bacteria has led to identification of numerous best management practices, which have proved valuable in reducing the number of beach closure days where applied.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys gardening, home improvement projects, traveling, and spending time with her husband and three sons.
