Tom is a senior geotechnical engineer with over 25 years of experience. In his role, he prepares proposals and works on business development, provides senior guidance oversight, and creation and review of technical documents. Tom also spends much of his time mentoring junior staff—he loves the opportunity to help young employees as they advance in their careers.
With a broad range of experience, including dam safety review, foundation engineering, riverbank stability projects, retaining wall design and construction, embankment design, and fly ash pond design, Tom has worked for a variety of clients. He’s known for his skill and insight—following the tailings dam failure that occurred at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Kingston, Tennessee coal fired power plant in December 2008, Tom was seconded by our south-east district from 2009 to 2011 to provide geotechnical engineering services for existing dam safety review and dam sideslope seepage, and stability improvements.
Every Sunday morning in the summer, you’ll find Tom playing golf with a group of seven friends. He also has a young son who is very fun, but less good at golfing.
