Neal is a water resources engineer with 12 years of experience. While his background is based in municipal engineering and land development servicing, he has specialties in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater. His recent experience in 2D flood modelling has drawn him to work on projects in several parts of Canada and the US, as well as New Zealand.
He has a passion for projects that make an impact—this passion was exemplified by his work in Edmonton’s Millbourne area. There, Neal's team conducted a flooding investigation following a large storm in 2012, identifying causes and potential infrastructure upgrade options to reduce flooding risk. That study has since spawned almost a dozen smaller projects that are decreasing the flood hazard in the area and helping to improve the lives of those in the surrounding community.
An avid runner, Neal is training for the upcoming Edmonton Marathon and Boston Marathon. When he isn’t training, Neal enjoys spending time with his family.
