Prior to joining the engineering industry, Joanne witnessed first-hand how poor infrastructure impacted underserved communities in developing countries. Seeing hardships imposed by poor roadway infrastructure led her to switch her career to transportation planning and civil engineering. Now, she’s passionate about building a more reliable and connected transportation network that supports all community members.
Today, Joanne serves as a transportation planner working on a variety of projects such as long-range transportation plans and studies, bicycle-pedestrian plans, comprehensive plans, as well as roadway construction, rehabilitation, and expansion. She’s motivated in her work every day to create a lasting impact on communities that is beneficial and positive—she believes that the ability to make a difference is very humbling and fulfilling.
When she’s not supporting transportation projects, Joanne likes to cook, golf, follow women's sports, and travel with her partner.
