Heather is a civil engineer (EIT), who works on a variety of projects in water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance. She leads field investigations and design from planning through to construction and supports with project management. Her passion is rehabilitation work that extends the life of existing infrastructure and reduces impacts to communities.
If you ask Heather, being a civil engineer is like being the stage crew for a show. Responsible for the behind-the-scenes systems like water, sewer, and roads, civil engineers make the world work for everyone else—it’s not always glamorous, but it’s important work. She’s dedicated to solving problems and designing the right projects. A highlight of her career was working on a flash flooding study in the New York City subway system, helping the client identify sources of flooding and mitigation measures.
Whenever possible, Heather enjoys getting outside to walk or hike, camp, or spend time on the water with her husband. When she can’t get outside, she likes to read and cuddle with her cat, Lia.
