While completing a bachelor’s degree in architecture, David had the opportunity to volunteer on a grass-roots planning and design project in his hometown—that experience was transformational. After graduating, his eyes were opened to the purpose and possibilities of landscape architecture to enrich lives and communities. He switched disciplines and never looked back. From starting his own small design partnership, to working in offices of all sizes, David has defined his role as a “placemaker”, improving the spaces where life happens and where we connect with nature.
Along with a balanced understanding of the dynamics of building and site, he has developed expertise in sustainability, site security, and community development. His aim is to artfully blend practicality and creative excellence to deliver integrated and responsive design.
When not engaged in a project, David spends time volunteering with professional organizations, having served as president of Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects, and on various boards and committees. In his spare time, he loves getting his hands dirty in the garden, or relaxing in a boat with a fishing-line in the water.
