Disasters will happen. Lauri’s passion is helping communities be better prepared before they occur, and more resilient in recovering. Disasters can take many forms from severe weather or geological events, to infrastructure failures, or even social conflicts. Lauri, a senior resilience planner, brings a critical awareness of the scope of disaster impacts to her role. With over 20 years of experience in both the private and public sector, she understands the importance of engaging governments, NGOs and the private sector collaboratively in prevention and response to disaster.
While disasters can happen anywhere, the scale of impacts can vary from one community to the next, especially for marginalized communities. As an advocate for equity and inclusion, Lauri is most excited when working to solve problems through equitable, diverse, and just practices. She has experience managing resources through all phases of disaster response and recovery and is proud to offer her knowledge wherever needed.
Outside of work, Lauri can be found practicing intentional self-care, playing music and studying dance, and finds solace in nature and exploring new places.
